This shredder does shred, but suffers from a design flaw. The clear viewing window is nice to see when its getting full, but its part of the top and not the can. This means when you take the top off to empty it the front is lower than the rest of the bucket and shredded paper spills out the front.

My first P-58Cs also failed within the first couple of months under very little use. The auto shut off feature quit working and it ran continuously. Fellowes did stand behind there product and provided me with a new one, no questions asked.

Fellowes gets an A for customer service, but an F for this particular model.

IntelliScanner mini 250 Review

I purchased the Intelliscanner Mini a few days ago, and am jotting down a few observations since no one else has reviewed this product. On the whole, it's pricey for what you get BUT there's nothing else on the market that does what this product does. The pros include (1) relative ease of set up and operation, (2) the fact that all of the various collections (media, household, assets) are all included in a single program, and (3) integrated use of your own personalized barcodes (with manual entry). Originally, I found several cons, but if you read the company's comment below, they have satisfactorily addressed my cons--happily so. I have removed those from this update, with an explanation below. I would add that the export to Excel is a great feature, too, and works just as promised.

A former "con" that I had was that I experienced a relatively high error rate for scanning paperbacks: the company has corrected me, and they are right. Using the ISBN barcode on the inside cover does appear to be very accurate, a huge relief. Not including prices for wine, I can fully understand. While it is true that their tech support is only available via e-mail, they were prompt in their responses (within 24 hours). Tech support answers could be more detailed, but at least they are willing to reply to question after question. Another review said the kitchen database was useless, so I didn't even try that database. I also wrote in my original review that I had a pet peeve with not having the lists alphabetized; there is a work around to that--simply search on the iPhone link or in the program. The bottom line: great idea, better than I had originally thought, but they could use a few refinements in the program (such as the ability to organize the list by alphabet or publication date). Instead of being resigned to using this program, I'm glad I bought it and it looks like it will do what I need it to do and it does seem to be worth the money. When compared to less expensive programs book cataloguing programs like Readerware, the simplicity of this program is great.
