This shredder performs well and is quieter than some. However, I found some inconsistencies in the product description after receiving the unit. The product info claims the shredder can take up to 7 pages at a time, including staples and paper clips. When I did 4 or 5 20-lb. sheets together, the result was excellent. But putting 7 pages through caused the machine to slow down quite a bit. I've learned from other reviews on different brands that manufacturer's will commonly overstate the maximum paper capacity per pass. Also, in the owner manual that came with the unit, it specifically states NO staples or paper clips.
There was also some confusion as to the warranty provided. The product description at Amazon says the unit comes with a 5-year warranty on the cutters and a 2-year warranty on the machine. In the documentation sent with the machine, the only warranty mentioned is a limited 2-year on the machine. I had to go to the wholesaler's website and fill out a form detailing my concerns. The following day, I received a return email stating there actually IS a 5 year warranty on the cutters.
The price of this shredder is steep for what it delivers, but I feel the 5-year cutter warranty makes it worth it. Oh, and there was a nice surprise in the owner manual: there is no oiling of the blades required. In fact, it says using oil will invalidate the cutter warranty.
