I've only been using this for a day but I decided to post a review because I almost didn't buy it due to the contradictory reviews posted here - it seemed risky. I decided to plunge in and spend the money anyway, and I'm glad I did! It worked great out of the box with a macbook pro and delicious library 2. i initially tried using my iphone as a scanner but was not able to get that to work. other barcode scanners I saw were too either too expensive, designed more for companies with large inventories, or weren't wireless.
I wanted to inventory my home inventory of barcoded books, cds, and dvds. This Microvision Rov scanner did everything I hoped it would. I can even be a room away and it works. In conjunction with a macbook pro and delicious library 2 this far exceeded my expectations. Yes, there are a few surprising results on the scans, but that is to be expected, 98% were accurate.
I'm wondering if the folks who gave this negative reviews are using a PC or an older Mac. In any case, this worked great for me.
