Royal HD1400MX Cross Cut Shredder Review

I have been through two shredders and this one from Royal is the best so far...it's the third one I've purchased and the first time from this brand. We went to Officemax to look at shredders and this one was being marketed as an Officemax product with their name on it for $139.00 We wound up getting the Royal version at Costco for only $89 and the nice thing about Costco is that when you purchase from them, if something happens to it they stand behind everything they sell very well. Now, as far as how does it work? Great. It is very quiet compared to the one's I have used previously. And, just in case the paper is too many sheets or to thick to handle, it will stop and you can push reverse and it does push it back up. Also, if the basket is removed to empty or for any other reason, the shredder will not turn on as a safety thing. I had a huge bag of credit card offers and credit card statements I was saving for the new shredder and it handled every one of them perfectly. No stopping or slowing down. And, the size of the shred is nice and small...capacity of the basket is good size as well. The only thing I could say that is slightly negative is the basket is kind of see through (holes on the front and when you do a lot of heavy duty shredding, dust will come through a little bit). Not a terrible thing considering the price we paid and the ability to take 14 sheets at a time. I would recommend so far this shredder to anyone looking for medium amount of use.
