This shredder is quiet and quick. I gave it 3 stars instead of 5 though because it didn't appear to work when I first got it. This was due to the fact that there is a safety notch that needs to be lined up EXACTLY with a piece of plastic inside the shredder bin. If it doesn't, the shredder doesn't work. It's also easy to for the notch to unalign from the plastic catch, making the shredder a bit sensitive.
