This device is usable as a dictionary, but, when looking up definitions of a simple word in Russian, its least used and sometimes arcane English definitions often appear before commonly used ones without any explanation of usage, and the "examples" provided do not cover the definitions.I don't think it makes sense to pay 3-4 hundred for a simple dictionary of an average quality; I bought it as a present to my elderly father because it was supposed to translate texts. I don't think this feature is usable at all. It perfectly translated into English the Russian phrase meaning "What is you name?", but that was almost the only thing it got right. Most of the time translation (both English into Russian and Russian into English) was wrong, and sometimes it simply gave gibberish. My "favorite" example: it translated the Russian phrase meaning "How old are you?" as "How much you years?", which is not a legitimate English phrase at all.
After getting to this point, I returned the device without testing the rest of its features.
One more thing - buyers beware: I bought this thing directly from the manufacturer over the telephone after seeing an ad in a newspaper, and their representative didn't say anything about them charging a re-stocking fee, so I learned about that fee only when the device arrived; I contacted them, but they declined to wave the fee.
