This shredder works great and is pretty fast and quiet - but it can handle only very light use. It advertises 8 pages capacity at once - but it has trouble shredding more than 5. Also, it does not seem to have any meaningful thermal protection, which is a big minus. I had a (slightly) larger batch of papers to shred - about 40 sheets. I fed the shredder about 6 to 7 sheets at a time, and on the fifth pass, the thing overheated - you could smell burning plastic. I immediately unplugged it and let it cool down. It still works, although I wonder for how long. Long story short, while no household shredder can handle continuous use, this shredder is only good for about 20-30 seconds of use. If you have more than 20 pages to shred, you will have to take very frequent breaks to let the shredder cool down.
