Unitech MS910 Handheld Barcode Scanner Review

Great scanner, once I got it working. I am using this with an Android phone (HTC Evo 4G, running version 4.0). The instructions tell you to pair the scanner with an Android phone using SPP and Bluetooth Connect.apk (Included on a mini CD). So, that is what I tried to do. No matter what I did, it would not work!

After a couple of days of trying to figure out what the problem was ( I am fairly tech savy, so I can usually figure out things on my own), I gave up and called their tech support line. After explaining the problem, the tech said I needed to install it using HID, and that Bluetooth Connect was not necessary! When I said that was not what the instructions said, he just said "trust me, you need to use HID." So, that is what I did, and it worked perfectly the first time. They could have saved me a lot of time and agrivation by just updating their instructions!!

That being said, the scanner works fine, and is about half the price of the other compact, bluetooth, barecode scanner that works with android which I was considering.
