Works like a button should, a little smaller than I thought but seems solid and does the job, the software it comes with is really unimpressive.

Boom - supposed to display a graphic 'virtually destroying' your computer, but I could not get this to work

Franklin NIV-570 Holy Bible, New International Version Review

The NIV-570 let's you add a note to a Bible passage. I tried out two units, one from Amazon, the other from a local Christian outlet. Both had the same defect: when making a note, you cannot enter numbers, only letters. If you want to add a note, "See Exodus 20", you have to settle for "See Exodus". I called Franklin's 800 help number and the gentleman I talked to tried it himself and said I was right, he then called an engineer who also tried it and confirmed it cannot be done. I also sent them an email, and the response confirmed the the number keys do not work when entering notes.

I bought this device before I joined my schoolarship in the uinted States. it is perfect,for Arabic speakers who seek help in english terminology of their feild of study. It is not designed for English speakers wishing to learn Arabic. It has many advantages and features. My daughters use the game sections which is highly enriching in English vocabulary for a 5 year old. the voice feature was quite helpful in learning the proper pronuncitation of the words. If I couldn't find a word in the Mawrid I would easily switch to Merriam Webster with a press of a button. Very easy to use and has more in it that I haven't yet explored. It is also benefecial for Arab tourists visiting an English speaking country or France. I'm totally satisfied with it and would have even given it a 6 star!

This is a great product with large, easy to read letters, and many wonderful functions. I did not rate it 5 stars for two reasons: first, the cover is not well attached and you must handle it rather carefully. Second, the battery compartment has one of those TINY screws that you can never find a screwdriver to fit and they strip so easily! I do hope the batteries don't drain quickly as I don't want to have to change them too often...be careful where you have this when you remove the screw or you will never see it again!

Ectaco ER900 Partner English & Russian Talking Electronic Translating Dictionary & Audio Phrasebook Review

This device is usable as a dictionary, but, when looking up definitions of a simple word in Russian, its least used and sometimes arcane English definitions often appear before commonly used ones without any explanation of usage, and the "examples" provided do not cover the definitions.
I don't think it makes sense to pay 3-4 hundred for a simple dictionary of an average quality; I bought it as a present to my elderly father because it was supposed to translate texts. I don't think this feature is usable at all. It perfectly translated into English the Russian phrase meaning "What is you name?", but that was almost the only thing it got right. Most of the time translation (both English into Russian and Russian into English) was wrong, and sometimes it simply gave gibberish. My "favorite" example: it translated the Russian phrase meaning "How old are you?" as "How much you years?", which is not a legitimate English phrase at all.
After getting to this point, I returned the device without testing the rest of its features.
One more thing - buyers beware: I bought this thing directly from the manufacturer over the telephone after seeing an ad in a newspaper, and their representative didn't say anything about them charging a re-stocking fee, so I learned about that fee only when the device arrived; I contacted them, but they declined to wave the fee.

Super Mini Digital Electronic Pocket Scale, 200 by 0.01g Review

This scale has a battery compartment held in place by two small tabs, which are easy to break, especially since the battery underneath is not clasped in by anything other than the battery cover - it springs open when the cover is removed. I have two of these, one bought from Amazon, and one arrived with a tab broken, while the other broke a few months later. Since the battery is not held closed by anything other than the cover it occasionally loses power.

On top of that, neither of these scales measures to an accuracy of more than 0.1 on very small amounts. Sure, it displays to 0.01g but that's useless when remeasurings can vary by much larger amounts. It does great measuring the 100g and 50g calibration weights, but try and weigh a 0.5gram item? Good luck getting close to accurate, ever.
